Lads, as usual the "value" placed on a player's contribution to the game is reduced to "scores" and "assists" - suggesting once again those purse carrying primadonnas at the front (who are lucky that a goal equals one or they would have trouble keeping score)have found someone of a similar "intelligence" to bias the table this way.

Why is the well timed tackle, deft interception, sublime switch of play across the back four, or "no guts, no glory" aerial challenge appreciated so poorly?

An alternative "scoring" system will be revealed (in small syllables, don't worry strikers) in due course.

An old fashioned way of doing this is the three point systems.

After each game our team score their peers as to who they think had the best game.

Best player 3 pts
2nd best 2 pts
3rd best 1 pt.

At the end of the season the points are totalled up and the top scorer is player of the year.

Thoughts.
