Share tips for who are the key players, what structure they play, where are they strong, where's their weaknesses.

3-0 up but we did not play as well as the other two weeks and we were under presure very early. That might have been a reflection of this as quite a good team.

They held structure generally well and marked up the forwards well but had a tendency to lose mid field. Something to exploit. They were always looking for the pass out wide to start the counter attack. If that was covered (which we did in the second half) they became a bit stuck. They did lose presence in the mid field but so did we. The defence were not as strong in the air for heading as Tugg Old Boys so generally heading is an option.

Match Report

5/7/09 – Brindabella Blues v Woden Valley Blues @ Conder

Good game – finished with Woden Blues winning 5-2.

Not our best game but not too bad – the game was fairly tight for most of the first half – both teams had a few chances with Anton getting the first one in for Woden – a nice shot edging past the reach of the keeper. Just before half time Brindabella equalised from a high ball - capitalising on the sun in the eyes of Woden’s defenders and good ball control from Brindabella’s forwards.

Four more goals from Woden followed half time – 2 from Alan (1 off a penalty), 1 from Marcus and 1 from Gary off a free kick from Gerard. Adam on the wing set up two of our five goals. Brindabella converted a penalty for a questionable hand ball making it 5-2.

The game was competitive and enjoyable – having a good referee makes a big difference. Woden Blues were in control for most of the game but Brindabella remained competitive and continued to challenge our backs and Paul in goals.

Man of the match was Gary with a typically solid and creative performance in the middle.
